The Operation Flinders Challenge is set for Saturday 10th October 2020 and is your chance to have fun, get fit and support a great cause. All funds raised from this event will solely support the Operation Flinders Foundation, helping transform the lives of young people "at risk".
Designed as an endurance event, the Operation Flinders Challenge gives you the choice of 10km, Half Marathon & Marathon distances. Participate as an individual or as a team (up to 10 per team).
Starting on Saturday morning at the Morialta Conservation Park in the beautiful Adelaide foothills, you'll walk or run through the stunning Adelaide Hills and Mt Lofty Ranges, taking in some of Adelaide’s most scenic trails (including the spectacular Heysen & Yurrebilla). The 10km and Marathon events will then return to Morialta looking back to further spectacular views of Adelaide and Half Marathon will finish at the Mt Lofty Summit as you conquer your challenge.
So grab your friends, family or workmates and take up the challenge together. Push your limits and join the fun and join in on Adelaide’s premium adventure event.
As well as being a brilliant physical test and team endurance event, the real challenge is to raise much needed funds for the Operation Flinders Foundation.

Starting from Challenge Central, this testing 10km course weaves its way through the Morialta Conservation Park. The first section of the course takes you up to Kookaburra Lookout and then onto Second Falls and Third Falls.
After this effort you’ll be rewarded with scenic views over the city of Adelaide as you head along Rocky Hill Track then down the descent back to Challenge Central. With a total ascent of almost 500m over the 10km course, this is a perfect way to challenge yourself, while raising money for a worthy cause!
The 21km course is a great challenge for those looking to take the next step up from the 10km event. Initially following the 10km course, this course exits Morialta and winds its way through the historic Morialta Barns passing by the iconic Scenic Hotel in Norton Summit.
Continue long the Heysen Trail through Horsnell Gully & Cleland National Park finishing at the spectacular Mt Lofty Summit, a great middle distance option!
The 42km Challenge follows the course of the 10km & Half Marathon Challenge events and then makes its way towards the highest point in the Mount Lofty Ranges – the Mount Lofty Summit.
This course is part of the Heysen Trail, passing through the native bushland of Horsnell Gully and up through Cleland Conservation Park, providing frequent vistas over Adelaide and the Hills.
After the ascent to Mount Lofty, the trail returns back to Morialta, where you can celebrate your achievements at Challenge Central.
Participants in the Operation Flinders Challenge are asked to raise money for the Operation Flinders Foundation in our cause to transform the lives of young people at risk.
The Operation Flinders Foundation runs an eight-day program for young people at risk in the northern Flinders Ranges of South Australia. Field exercises achieve the primary objective of Operation Flinders by placing participants in a remote outdoor environment where self-discipline, teamwork, co-operation, leadership and trust are intrinsic to survival. For 8 days participants are placed in an environment that provides only for basic needs of life. They face challenges as individuals and as part of the team, which the significant majority pass with flying colours. The program has a proven ability to bring about life-changing experiences for the participants.
When you register you are able to build your own easy online fundraising page via Everyday Hero. Ask your family, friends and colleagues anywhere for a donation by emailing the web link. Each donation is recorded on your page along with messages of encouragement from your supporters.
